Local Council Membership
Dear Lone Star Council CGP Members,
As your Lone Star Council Board of Directors works behind the scenes to prepare another great program year, we are also preparing for a change by the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners. Soon the national office will no longer be handling payment for your local council membership registration and renewal. They will continue to process membership for the national organization.
Changes Coming Soon for Your Local Council Membership
Starting September 1st, 2026 the Lone Star Council CGP will manage its own council memberships. Here are the changes you can expect:
Members will have a username (the email address associated with their council membership) and be able to create a password to log in and register on the Lone Star Council website, https://lonestarcgp.org/, for luncheon programs at the member rate.
Members will have access to a directory of local council members.
Members will receive renewal reminders in advance of their local council membership expiration date and will be able to pay online with a credit card, or by mailing in a check.
At the June 2026 LSC CGP board meeting, we discussed our local council’s membership rate, which has not changed in many years while our expenses have increased significantly. The current $75 membership fee is lower than most other councils of our size. The new local council membership will be $100 annually, effective September 1st, 2026.
Local Council Dues are Independent of National Membership
As always, you can join the Lone Star Council without a requirement to join at the national level. If you joined the Lone Star Council or renewed your local council membership before September 1st, 2026 your local council membership renewal date will remain the same and you will enjoy current member status.
Effective September 1st, 2026 local council dues will be paid directly to the Lone Star Council.
If you are uncertain about your current member status, go to the national office website and log in. Your username is the email address associated with your membership. If you cannot remember your password, click on the “Request new password” tab in the upper right hand corner of the login panel.
